1. About this policy
This policy explains how ETA Visa Pro, run by Travel & Adventures Limited, uses cookies and similar technologies on this website. Please read it alongside our Privacy Notice, which explains how we handle personal information more generally.
2. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser. They let the website recognise your browser as you move between pages or when you come back later.
Other technologies work in a similar way. Local storage lets a website keep information in your browser without using a cookie. Tags and pixels are small pieces of code that send information about your visit to another company, such as Google or Meta. In this policy, “cookies” covers all of these.
Some cookies are set by us. Others are set by the companies whose tools we use.
3. Your consent
Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR), we must ask for your consent before we store or read cookies on your device, unless they are strictly necessary to provide something you have asked for.
When you first visit, a banner asks if you are happy for us to use analytics and advertising cookies. They stay off unless you accept them. You can accept all of them, reject them, or choose one type and not the other. Rejecting them does not stop you using any part of the website, including our forms.
Strictly necessary cookies do not need consent, because the website cannot work properly without them.
4. Types of cookies
- Strictly necessary
- These keep the website and our forms secure and remember your cookie choice. They are always on.
- Analytics
- These help us understand how visitors use the website, such as which pages are read most and where people leave, so we can improve it. We only use them if you accept them.
- Advertising
- These help us measure whether our adverts lead to enquiries, and let advertising companies show adverts that may be more relevant to you. Where our pages show adverts, they also help the advertising company show and measure those adverts. We only use them if you accept them.
5. Cookies we use
This table lists the cookies and similar technologies currently used on this website.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| evp_sess | ETA Visa Pro | Strictly necessary. Keeps our forms secure by checking that each form was sent from our website, and remembers how you arrived on the site (for example from a search engine or an advert) for the length of your visit. | Session: deleted when you close your browser |
| evp_consent (local storage) | ETA Visa Pro | Strictly necessary. Remembers your choice about analytics and advertising cookies, so we do not ask you again on every page. | 12 months |
| _gcl_au | Google Ads | Advertising. Stores an identifier so Google can tell us when someone who clicked one of our Google adverts later sends an enquiry. | 90 days |
| _gcl_aw | Google Ads | Advertising. Set when you arrive by clicking one of our Google adverts. It stores the click details so a later enquiry can be linked to that advert. | 90 days |
When you accept advertising cookies and then send us an enquiry, the Google and Meta tags record that an enquiry was made, along with its reference number. We do not send them your name, contact details or application details.
6. Google Consent Mode
We use Google Consent Mode (version 2) so that Google’s tools follow your choice. Until you accept, Google tags are told that you have not agreed to analytics or advertising cookies. The four consent signals (ad_storage, analytics_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization) all start as “denied”, and only change if you accept the matching type of cookie.
We use Consent Mode’s “advanced” setting. This means Google tags load before you make a choice, but in a restricted state. Without your consent they do not set or read analytics or advertising cookies. They may still send Google cookieless signals, often called “pings”. These contain basic information such as the page address, the time, your browser type, whether you arrived from an advert, and your consent choice. As with any request your browser makes, Google can see your IP address when a ping is sent.
Google uses these pings to estimate, in aggregate, the visits and enquiries it cannot measure directly. While you have not accepted advertising cookies, Google may also carry advert click information in the address of the pages you visit on our site instead of storing it in a cookie, and its advertising tags leave out advert click identifiers from what they send.
If you accept, the tags work normally and may set the cookies listed above. If you reject, they stay in the restricted state.
7. Google Fonts
Our website uses typefaces from Google Fonts, which are loaded from Google’s servers. When a page opens, your browser asks Google for the font files, which means your IP address and basic information about your browser are sent to Google so it can deliver them. This happens whatever cookie choice you make. Google Fonts does not set cookies. Google explains how it handles this information in its Google Fonts privacy FAQ.
8. Changing your cookie settings
You can change your mind at any time. Use this button to open the cookie banner again:
The same option is in the footer of every page. If the button does not work in your browser, clear this website’s stored data in your browser settings and the banner will appear again on your next visit.
If you withdraw your consent, analytics and advertising tags stop running from the next page you view. Cookies they have already set may stay in your browser until they expire or you delete them (see section 9).
9. Controlling cookies in your browser
Most browsers let you see which cookies are stored, delete them, and block cookies from all websites or from particular ones. You will usually find these options in your browser’s settings under “Privacy” or “Security”. If you block strictly necessary cookies, our forms may not work.
You can also:
- install Google’s browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics on all websites;
- manage how Google personalises adverts for you in My Ad Center;
- manage your advertising preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account settings, if you use them;
- use a private or incognito window, which deletes most cookies when you close it.
10. Google and Meta policies
Where we use their tools, Google and Meta also use the information collected under their own policies:
- Google Privacy Policy
- How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services
- Meta Privacy Policy
- Meta Cookies Policy
11. Changes and questions
We will update this policy whenever we change the cookies we use. The “last updated” date on this page shows when it last changed.
